WHY CHOOSE US?
There are lots of companies selling Mount Kilimanjaro climbs – and like many travel services – there’s the good, the OK, and ones best avoided! Climbing Kilimanjaro is a full-on adventure to nearly 6,000 metres – so when you plan your trip make sure you choose a good quality Kilimanjaro operator – and for the right reasons!
Action Challenge has been around since 1999, and we’ve taken over 6,000 trekkers safely to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, including groups from many leading UK companies and charities.
We offer a range of Kilimanjaro trips to suit all requirements, and believe that our Challenge Groups, with full support & unique camaraderie, offer the best overall Kilimanjaro experience – and the best value in the market.
Kilimanjaro Challenge Groups have qualified UK Mountain Leaders with deep experience & passion for what they do – offering full support & daily briefings – AND a UK Doctor / Expedition Medic. You may scratch around and find a cheaper Kilimanjaro climb somewhere, but is it worth risking trekking to 6,000m without proper support – which also includes full expedition medical kits, oxygen cylinders, satellite phones, & daily health monitoring whilst on the mountain?
We are 100% ATOL bonded – ATOL number 6296. Tour operators who sell air-inclusive travel packages in the UK are required to hold an ATOL licence under UK law. It offers full financial protection by the CAA for clients who have booked package trips. Many companies ONLY offer ABTA protection, which does NOT always fully protect a combined flights and travel itinerary purchased separately. Always read the small print for your Kilimanjaro trip!

A successful Kilimanjaro climb starts with good preparation – and our pre-trip support sets us apart from other companies.
A local team of English speaking Kilimanjaro head guides, assistant guides & Kilimanjaro porters – experienced in working with Action Challenge groups. Incredibly supportive & great fun – and know Mt Kilimanjaro like the back of their hands – many who have climbed to the summit over 100 times! Approx. 2.5 local guides & porters per Kilimanjaro trekker – who look after the logistics, cooking, toilets, and camping on the mountain – plus the movement of the camp each day whilst on Kilimanjaro – including your luggage.
A Kilimanjaro climb is an ‘expedition’ – but can still be done in reasonable style. All our trips utilise private camping areas, with good quality tents, private toilets (so much better than the public ones!) – and large mess tents where the group dines and gets to know each other in the evenings. The food is freshly cooked – the menus are varied – and there’s plenty of it to keep you going!
The group comes together – takes on a tough challenge – and then celebrates its achievements in style on the final night of the trip in a local restaurant or hotel, with Kilimanjaro medals, awards, and a maybe a bit of a party! Many of our participants make new special friends on our Kilimanjaro trips – and quite a few come back together for another challenge, on a different trail, in the following years!
Whether its’s the hotels & transfers before & after the Kilimanjaro climb – or the campsites & food whilst out on the trails – our all inclusive packages mean that you will get a top quality experience at a great value price! Flights are generally included, but there’s a ‘land only’ option if you’d prefer to book your own. Single supplement accommodation upgrades are also available.
Our office team have deep experience of climbing Kilimanjaro and organising hundreds of trips to Tanzania – and they’re there to help with all your questions & requests. We also organise Kilimanjaro Open Evenings – where you can come and meet the team, hear all about our Kilimanjaro trips, what to expect, how to prepare well, and how you can join us on an unforgettable adventure!
