HOW TO JOIN
Self Fund or Fundraise?
On our overseas trips and UK challenges – of course you can ‘Self Fund’ – just like a holiday or entering an event which you’re taking on for yourself. However, for many their challenge is more than just the ‘physical’ – it’s also about also helping others, fundraising for a charity that’s close to their heart, and making it feel very worthwhile. UK charities have had a tough time over the last couple of years – and they would welcome your support more than ever!
Fundraising can appear daunting at the outset, however the end result can be just as rewarding as the challenge itself! Getting off to an early start, breaking down the total fundraising into smaller targets, and letting people really know about your challenge and the cause that you’re supporting is important. Anyone can not just reach, but exceed, their fundraising goal!
Once you have signed up to the challenge you will need to set up an online donation page on Just Giving, your chosen charity will be in touch within a couple of weeks with a welcome pack, fundraising advice as well as regular updates, support and a point of contact. For companies, schools and private groups – we can make all the arrangements for a bespoke event and agree the fundraising details with a charity that you may wish to support. It transforms an event into a fantastic engaging and motivational challenge!

3 WAYS TO JOIN
We have 3 ways for you to sign up to most of our Challenges – and to support your chosen charity if you wish to. An ‘Open Challenge’ is one of our events where you can fundraise for ANY charity.
Action Challenge work with 450+ charities, some of our challenges are bespoke events for a single charity, others are supported by our key charity partners, whilst all of our ‘open’ and mass participation challenges are open for anyone to take part in for ANY charity of their choice. If you would like to do something to fundraise and are not sure who to fundraise for, please do speak to us – as we know which ones are likely to support you best.
Sign up to a challenge and pay the full cost of your place – or a deposit initially followed by a final balance on our overseas trips – just like paying for a holiday!
In addition, if you want to, you can fundraise whatever you can for a charity of your choice with no targets or deadlines.
You pay an initial registration deposit / fee to secure your place and commit to fundraise a minimum target for a charity of your choice. A sum (between 50-80% – depending on the event) of that target is due to your charity before the start of the event, and from that sum your charity will pay Action Challenge the remaining cost of your place on the challenge. The balance of the fundraising is due no later than 4 weeks after the event.
Is a mixture of ‘Self Funding’ and ‘Charity Sponsorship’. You pay a proportion of the event cost (normally approx 50%) and then have a lower charity fundraising target compared to the full Charity Sponsorship option.
Our Charity Partners
Many who take on one of our challenges support a charity to make it really count, and our events raise £10+ million / year for 450 or so charities. You can choose a cause that’s close to your heart – they’ll welcome your commitment after what’s been a tough couple of years for many charities – and they’ll help you with their fundraising support.
