CLIMB KILIMANJARO FOR CHARITY
For the majority who climb Kilimanjaro for Charity, the challenge is more than just the physical – it’s also about helping others and fundraising for a charity that’s close to their heart. Fundraising can appear daunting, however the end result is just as rewarding as the Kilimanjaro challenge itself!
By choosing to take on a Kilimanjaro Climb for charity you’ll be supported 100% of the way – and that includes with your fundraising. Once you have signed up to the climb your chosen charity will be in touch within a week or so with a welcome pack, fundraising advice as well as regular updates, support and a point of contact.
You can fundraise for a challenge online, offline or both. We ask that you use online donation websites such as JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving – as this is the easiest and most effective way to fundraise successfully for Kilimanjaro. We, as the event organisers, don’t handle any of your fundraising – ALL fundraising goes straight to your chosen charity.
Once you have registered for your Kilimanjaro climb, your chosen charity should be in contact to welcome you on board and provide you with full fundraising details; we suggest holding off on your fundraising until you have spoken to your charity. If you charity has not made contact within a reasonable time – please let us know and we will chase them up!
‘Just Giving was launched in 2001, and have enabled over 21 million people to raise £1.5 billion for over 13,000 charities and causes. It is the UK’s online fundraising site of choice – set up your page easily and spread your fundraising message with text giving, facebook and much more.

When raising money by an online fundraising site, you don’t need to physically transfer the money to your charity. The website will do this automatically for you.
You just need to ensure that the total fundraising amount shown on your page is greater than the minimum required amount needed for your challenge target.
The site transfers your fundraising to your charity in monthly installments, so your charity will have already received the majority of the funds before any target deadlines.
If you are at all concerned please feel free to contact your charity and check that they are aware of your fundraising page and are happy that you have reached the required amount.
If you have been collecting money by using manual sponsorship forms you will need to make sure that you have collected your pledges in advance and sent the money to your chosen charity – NOT TO ACTION CHALLENGE. If you are unsure of your charities preferred payment method please feel free to call them and ask them directly.
