Climb Kilimanjaro
Live the Dream! Climb Mount Kilimanjaro!

Private Kilimanjaro Trips

A corporate group at the Kilimanjaro summit signOver the past 13 years we have taken some of the UK’s most well know and supported charities such as Scope, Marie Curie and Barnardos as well as top FTSE 250 corporate companies - Phones 4U, British Gas, Coutts, Glenfiddich, HSBC and ICAP to (name a few!) to the roof of Kilimanjaro. In 2010 we organised for George Solt, to become the world's recognised oldest man to summit Kilimanjaro successfully as documented by the Guinness Book of World Records - proving that no dream or summit challenge is impossible!

Planning a Private Trip

Step 1:
When should I go?

All of our trips are within the main trekking seasons to climb Kilimanjaro, which are mid December to mid March and June to October. You may be celebrating a birthday or a special occasion, or perhaps you want to trek around the time of full moon on the mountain. For more information on Kilimanjaro's seasons and weather conditions, please click here >
Choose the trekking season in which you would like to travel.
Step 2:

Which route should I choose?

However you want to climb Kilimanjaro, there is a route for everyone. Take on the popular Machame Route and climb over 6 days, or if you haven’t done trekking on this scale before and want a more relaxed pace, our 7 day Rongai or Lemosho challenge might be for you. If camping really isn't your bag, opt for the Marangu route where we stay in huts, or if you are looking to test yourself to the limit, why not take on the Western Breach for an extreme Kilimanjaro Challenge.

Choose from one of 8 routes to the summit. To give you some help, we have summarised each route so that you can choose the best option for you and your group.
Step 3:
Payment options...

Whether you want to climb Kilimanjaro to fulfil a personal dream, raising money for charity or both, we have come up with 3 flexible payment options for you to choose from.

Option 1: Self-Fund

You pay for your Kilimanjaro climb out of your own pocket as you would a holiday. You can still fundraise for charity if this is something you would like to do and arrange this separately.

How does it work?

  • You pay a registration fee to Action Challenge upon registration to secure your place.
  • We send you an invoice for the final balance of your trip cost 10 weeks prior to departure.
  • You pay your final balance invoice by cheque or bank transfer within two weeks of receipt.

Option 2: Minimum-Sponsorship

You raise a minimum amount of sponsorship for a charity of your choice.

How does it work?
  • You pay a registration fee to Action Challenge to secure your place and tell us which charity you are fundraising for. (We sort out the formalities with them).
  • You commit to raising a further minimum amount of sponsorship, e.g. £3500, where 50% (£1750) of the money raised covers the final balance of your place on the trip and 50% (£1750), plus anything raised above your target is kept by the charity.
  • Your charity sends you a fundraising pack and supports you in your fundraising plans.
  • You send at least 80% of your fundraising to the charity (not Action Challenge) 10 weeks prior to departure and the remaining 20% before you go. (Your charity will advise you on how to go about doing this).

Option 3: Mix-Funding

You pay for part of the Kilimanjaro climb cost yourself and raise a further amount of sponsorship for the charity of your choice.

How does it work?

  • You pay a registration fee to Action Challenge to secure your place and tell us which charity you are fundraising for. (We sort out the formalities with them).
  • We send you an invoice for a further portion of your trip cost 10 weeks prior to departure, e.g. £650.
  • You pay the above invoice by cheque or bank transfer within two weeks of receipt.
  • You commit to raising a further minimum amount of sponsorship for a charity e.g. £2300, whereby a portion of the monies go towards the final balance of your place on a trip (£1100), but the majority (£1200 - more than 50%) of your fundraising goes to your chosen charity.
Climb for yourself. Climb for charity. Climb Kilimanjaro!
Choose a payment option. With our 3 flexible payment options you can simply pay for yourself, fundraise for a charity of your choice or both!
Step 4:

Start planning your journey to the top of Africa!

Once you have an idea of how many people are going to be in your group and how you would like your trip to unfold, such as the route your would like to take, how many days you would like on the mountain, the standard of accommodation you would like and any possible trip extensions you may be interested in, you can start building your trip by completing our on-line Trip Planner. Once we have received your enquiry we will get in touch to discuss your trip and work up a proposed itinerary, along with a quote based on your requirements and the number of people in your group.

Booking your trip...

You have built your trip with the help of our Kili experts and so now it is time to book! You can either appoint a 'Group Leader' for your challenge and make one group booking and one payment for registration fees, or we can take individual registrations under a group name.

Kilimanjaro Challenge Online Registration

We can set up your challenge on-line, whereby your group can all make individual payments for the required registration fee by debit or credit card.

Individuals will be required to enter their personal details, as well as selecting a challenge 'Payment Option', depending on whether they are Self-Funding, raising a Minimum-Sponsorhip or Mix-Funding for charity. Upon selecting a payment option and agreeing to the Kilimanjaro Challenge Terms and Conditions of entry, individuals will be prompted to enter their card details as a method of payment for the challenge registration fee. Once payment has been accepted, they will receive confirmation of booking via email, as well as a Kilimanjaro Challenge information pack to get started on their journey to the top of Africa!
