Climb Kilimanjaro
Live the Dream! Climb Mount Kilimanjaro!

Itinerary: GOSHCC Kilimanjaro Trek

This 11-day trip to Tanzania is a once in a lifetime experience. Our 2017 trekkers will be following the Rongai route, which approaches Kilimanjaro from the north and provides spectacular views of the summit and magnificent ice fields. Trekking with a group of like-minded supporters and experiencing the incredible hospitality of the fantastic Tanzanian crew, will all add to your mountain adventure.

The route starts on fairly open slopes with the possibility of seeing herds of buffalo and colobus monkeys. You’ll gradually ascend through moorland towards jagged Mawenzi peak, one of Kilimanjaro's three volcanic cones, before leaving the vegetation behind and navigating boulder-strewn slopes and scree to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Africa's tallest mountain.

Making it to the summit of Kilimanjaro is tough and you’ll be pushing yourself to the limit, but every single step you take will be changing the lives of the children we treat at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
